Here is my question. My mother for the past 25 years has been paying the property taxes on my grandmother's home. Grandmother passed away approx. 25 years now. The Deed is in the name of another relative who is also deceased, so the question is would my mother ever be able to take ownership of the property and if so, how? The property in question is paid in full and has been for many years now.

Welcome Martha,

Your mother can try filing an affidavit of heirship and get the property transferred in her name. She may even take the help of an attorney and take steps to transfer the property in her name.
