can heirs of an estate dispute the sale of home that happend 2.8 years ago? is there a time limit to do this?
this house should not be part of the estate as it was sold prior to the death...almost 3 years. claiming the house was not sold for fair market value. an attorney told us an individual can sell a house for whatever price they want, even $1 is legal. all the papers were filed correctly with the county. a lawyer is demanding the house be vacated and deed be signed back over to the family. can they legally do this? the letter was not sent certified or served. regular mail. the family has been estranged from their father for 18 years, now that he has passed the critters come out of the woodwork trying to cash in.

are you the purchaser of the house?
it seems that if the father was competent at the time of sale..and there was no warning to the parties involved in the sell that the father was incompetent...i don't think the family can contest.
It seems a bit odd

MY MOTHER IS THE BUYER. HE WAS HER BOYFRIEND, THEY LIVED TOGETHER FOR 16 YEARS AT ANOTHER HOUSE. MY MOM PURCHASED THE HOUSE AND MY SISTER RENTED IT FROM HER. I THINK THEY ARE TRYING TO CLAIM HE WAS INCOMPETENT ALTHOUGH THEY WERE ESTRANGED FOR 18 YRS AND HAVE NEVER EVEN SPOKEN TO THEM. MY MOM NEVER EVEN MET THESE KIDS UNTIL THE FUNERAL. WHICH BY THE WAY, MY MOM PAID FOR. NOW THEY KNOW THIS HAS HAS BEEN FIXED UP NICELY AND THEY WANT THE HOUSE BACK. ALL OF THE PAPERWORK WAS FILED PROPERLY IN THE COUNTY AND AFTER THE SALE OF THE HOME ( QUIT CLAIM DEED) MY MOTHER OBTAINED A MORTGAGE ON THIS HOUSE FOR REPAIRS WITHOUT ANY ISSUES FROM THE LENDER.MEANING THE TITLE WAS CLEAR AND SHE WAS THE ONLY TITLE HOLDER AT THIS ADDRESS. CAN THEY DISPUTE THIS?
