I co-signed for a house with my mom. I have recently married and plan on moving when my husband returns from deployment. How do I remove my name from the deed? Will she have to re-finance?

Welcome Guest,

You can sign a quitclaim deed in your mother's favor and transfer the property to her. This will help you in removing your name from the property deed. However, if you want to remove your name from the mortgage, then your mother will have to refinance the mortgage in her name.
