Current my wife and I own the deed to our home which is situated on ten acres. We would like to add my son's name to the deed so that when we both pass on (i.e. die) he will become sole owner.

Hi daniel,

You will have to sign a quit claim deed in order to add your son to the property. The property ownership should be "joint tenancy with rights of survivorship". You should contact an attorney and he will help you in drafting the deed. Once you fill out the deed, you will have to notarize and record the deed at the county recorder's office where the property is located.

Thanks
