My mother passed away in feb 2010. I finally found someone to buy her mobile home. The problem is she has unpaid taxes on the mobile home. I do not have the money to pay the taxes. Can I use some of the money from the sell of the house to pay the taxes?

Hi alessandrafabris

Although the option suggested by you is a good one but I doubt that without paying the taxes (pending) whether your deed will be registered at county office?

You need to arrange bridge loan (may be for few days) so that all the transactions will be smoothly arranged.

keep in touch..........

Hi alessandrafabris,

In my opinion, you can sell off the property first and then use the sale proceeds in order to pay off the unpaid taxes.

Thanks

I do not think the idea of selling the mobile home will be profitable I the long run. This is because there are certain legalities regarding the financing of mobile homes. In the first place, value of mobile homes depreciates over a certain period of time. Depreciation means reduction in the value of an asset over a certain amount of time. The main cause for such a reduction is, being a mobile home; land is not included in the loan. If the value of the home depreciates by the time you are planning to sell it off, you might not get a good selling price.

If it is possible to rent out the mobile home, then you could have a steady income each month by which you could pay off the taxes.

My sister is inheriting our fathers mobile home. She may arrange to have it removed from the site for a payment of £5000, Will this payment be paid for by my fathers estate or will she be liable to pay once the home is officially hers?
