I recently purchased a home, and will be closing soon with my significant other. We live in a community state,Washington. To protect our ownership. should we seek legal council for joint survivalship incase one dies the other would get the property?

You can definitely go for a joint tenancy with right to survivorship (JTWRS). In order to draft the deed in that manner, you can contact a real estate attorney. He would help you in drafting the deed as well as filling it out.
