Transfer of mortaged property

Cody Smith Guest	Posted: Mon Sep 15, 2008 5:52 pm    Post subject: Transfer of mortaged property Recently, unknown to me, my sister who had power of attorney over my mother, transferred her house to my sister and me. Since then, my mother passed away. I have not signed anything but found out the house has a rather large mortage against it. Am I liable for the mortgage?
