My mom bought property form a woman for a small fee and the back taxes that was owed on the land. Since the woman passed. My mother went to the title company to get a copy of the deed and they told her that they no longer possesed the deed to the land. What should she do? when the woman who possessed the deed says she no longer has it?

Hi ticiamccray,

I must say that your mother is in a tough situation. The woman from whom your mother purchased the property is deceased now. In that case, your mother should contact a real estate attorney and take his opinion in this regard. He'll be the best person to help her in getting a property title.
