My mother obtained property in a divorce to my father. She remarried and never put her new husbands name on the property. She passed away and had no will. She was married to her 2nd husband for 24 years. What happens to the property?

Hi smarie,

Your mother's second husband will also be considered as one of her heirs. As she did not leave back a will, your mother's second husband can file an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office and get the property transferred in his name.

Thanks
