My mother passed away and left two properties that she owed tax on, if I inherit the properties will I have to pay the taxes on them before doing title transfer.

You not be responsible to pay tax before property transfer. After you owe this property you have to pay tax of this property.

Hi sfloressr,

You can get the property transferred in your name and then pay off the taxes on those properties. Once you become the owner of the property, you would be liable for paying off the taxes or the IRS may place a tax lien on the properties.
