my father recently passed away. is this the time to become power of attorney for my mother? she is in good health, working still and all that, was wondering if this should be done now. also i found a form online that fills in the names of all parties involved and can be printed then signed and notorized. would this be a legal document. _________________ Need help choosing the right loan? Hi shawn,
What's the name of the form? if you wish to get the property transferred in your mother's name, you need to file an Affidavit of heirship and remove your father's name from the deed. A Power of attorney (POA) won't possibly work here.

Hi shawn,
If you want your mother to sign a power of attorney in your name, then it will be better if you can consult an attorney and draft the form from him. I think this will be better than downloading the form and getting it notarized and recorded. The attorney will also help you to understand your rights once you get the power of attorney.
Thanks |
