they have both passed. i have POA and Executive of will and house was left to me and my brother. but i haved lived here for years was raised here. my brother wants no part of it. i have no clue what i need to do. can you help. never had to do this before. we are the last of our family. both our mom and dad had passed.
Hi tonice,

As there is a will, it needs to be probated. You can contact an attorney and he will help you in probating the will. After the probate is over, the property would be divided as per the will. Your brother can, then, transfer the property to you and you will become the sole owner of the property.

Thanks

any clue how much it is gonna cost? i wasnt able to work because my grandmother needed 24/7 care because she was blind and deaf and had Pancreatic Cancer and didnt have medicare or masshealth here so i couldnt get assistance. and do i need to put the bills in my name or do i wait till i do the probate stuff because she gets discounts from the Vetrans on the taxes and senior discounts on certain bills. its been 1 week and 1 day now since she has passed. or is it possible now to get assistance for me and my children and not being married but have a fiance.

thanks you

I wouldn't think it should cost more than $1,000 but I would contact a Real Estate attorney right away to find out more information, I am sure he can give you a little more insight on what you really need to do and how much it will cost. But as long as your brother is willing to sign it over to you, it should be a cheap and easy process.

Go to your yellow pages Monday and try to find an attorney to help you, or look on a search engine under your area and type in Real Estate lawyers ( your area )
