First, I apologize in advance for being ignorant, but this is all new to me. Long story short…both parents died intestate. It is just my Sister and I who remain. Our Father passed 9/2010 and Mother passed 11/2010. I am the Administrator of her estate (he had no estate, as everything transferred over to her). Their home which is in Indiana is paid for. All property taxes have been paid and there are no liens on the property. If possible, I would like for my sister to have their home to live in.
Question: If we do not have to end up selling the home to satisfy debts…Can I sign my half over to my sister using a Quit Claim Deed?

Thank you for your help.

Hi inspire!

Welcome to forums!

You can use a quitclaim deed in order to transfer your share to her. As your property is free and clear, you can even use a warranty deed to transfer your property.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
