I've been divorce for 15 years and I want the house only under my name... can i do that? he left the house 15 years ago and I paid it for the last 8 years..the house is paid already.. what can i do? do I have to give him half if we sell? even thoght he left? he said that he would transfer it under my name.. the property is under both of us.. but he wants me to give him money if he does that..

Hi conamorsi,

You will have to ask your spouse to sign a warranty deed and transfer the property to you. If he is one of the owners of the property, then he can demand money from you in order to get the property transferred in your name.
