my boyfriend would like to take his name completely of his property deed and put my name on it. Is this called 'quick deed'? How do I go about doing this?

Very Happy how are ya goofee,

What is the purpose for the change? Depending on the state the property is in you can seek the advice of a real estate attorney, an escrow company, or try to do this yourself at your county recorder's office. It is called a Quit-Claim Deed.

Best o' Luck

Hi goofeefah,

Welcome to the forum.

Juan has rightly said that it is called a quitclaim deed. If your boyfriend is the owner of the property then he can quitclaim to you. BTW is it a mortgaged property? If so then before quitclaiming to you, your boyfriend needs to take the lenders consent.

If you to know more about quitclaim deed check out the article at http://www.mortgagefit.com/quitclaim-deed.html

Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

Best of luck,
Larry
