Hi,

Me and my brother own two houses with mortgages and currently live in them. my house is bigger and hence has a higher mortgage, I want to switch houses with my brother and take his smaller house that would be easier for me to make payments. and since he can afford the bigger house he will take mine. what is the best way to do this with moving full ownership and mortgage responsibilities between each other for each house?

Thank you

Welcome jojo,

As far as I can understand, both of you will have to sign quitclaim deeds in order to transfer the property to one another and then both of you will have to refinance the mortgages.
