Hi,
I was just wondering if you could use a quick claim deed for a vehicle. I unfortunatly tried to help a friend out who has been making the payments but it not making any effort to get my name off the title. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

I think you cannot use a quitclaim deed for transferring the title of a vehicle. If you take your name off from the title, then use a reverse registration form and state on it that you no longer own it. Then send it to the Motor Vehicle Division of your state.

Best of luck,
Larry

Deeds are only for land. The way to affect title to a car is to go to your state's motor vehicle department and fill out the appropriate title documents.
