if my mother signed over to me her building 13 yrs ago, but it was not filed is this valid, and is there a statue of limitations on filing. i am in the state of illinois and have several witnesses and notary signed.

Hi shay,

If the property deed has not been filed, then it won't be considered as valid document. The time period to file a property deed may vary from state to state. You should speak to a real estate attorney of your state and check out the laws.
