My mother, who is now 81, and I bought this property together. She now wants to have her name removed from the property deed and the mortgage. I have been paying all of it anyway, and she wants to have it in my name alone. What is required to accomplish that?

first of all tell me that is your mother are agreed to remover her name from this property if agreed so there is a very simple way to transfer the property at your name. Secondly also confirm that is it still mortgage with any financial institution or not?

Hi Jack,

Your mother can sign a quit claim deed and transfer the property to you. You can, then, notarize and record the deed at the county recorder's office. After the property is transferred to you, contact the lender if there is a mortgage on the property and refinance it in your name.

Thanks
