In 2006, the property that was purchased by my husband for out son was transferred from my name to his. However, the real estate taxes is still listed in my name. When I reqused a reason from City hall, I was told the house is still in my name as well as my son's. We paid to have that done by Mortgage agency. How can i get my name removed from his property?

When the mortgage was in my name it was with Chase Manhatten. They stated my name sure not be on the property because it was taken out of my name and my son's name sure be on there only.

Hi Guest!

Welcome to Forums!

You can sign a quitclaim deed in your son's name and give up all the interest in the property. If you have documents regarding the earlier transfer of the property in your son's name, you can show it to City Hall authorities.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.

Hi Guest!

If you need to transfer the mortgage in your son's name, then he needs to refinance the mortgage. Your son can speak to the lender about this.

Thanks,

Jerry

The mortgage company probably never filed the deed with the county. Follow up with them about this.

Otherwise, sign a new deed, and this time file it yourself with the county. This will remove your name from the tax rolls.
