Posted on: 23rd Jun, 2010 05:05 pm
I want to buy a mobile home the seller cant find the title there was another buyer that backed out because of this i was told that i could purchase the land with the home without a title but someone could possibly come later and claim the home i was also told that i could pay a lawyer one to four thousand dollars to get me the title what is really going on how do titles get so lost that a company that does this all the time couldnt get the title and if they cant find it to sell the home is it possible that i can this is a forclosure needs alot of work
Welcome AngieLeaRock,

The seller can contact the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in order to get a duplicate copy of the mobile home. If the seller cannot get the title of the property, then it's better not to purchase that property as it can pose problems for you later on. You can look out for other properties which are similar to this and buy one for yourself.
