My mother is deceased. I have rented her house to a tenant. She wants to buy it now and I dont have the deeds. What do I do? I live in another state now and I called the courthouse and they told me I need some type of numbers and I dont have that either.

Hi mynasing!

Welcome to forums!

If the property is in your mother's name, then you need to file an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office where the property is located and get it transferred in your name. Then, you can sign over the property deed to the new owner who wants to buy it from you.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
