I moved out of my house 1 1/2 yrs ago. I just found out that I am still on the title of my house, However new people are living there.. I thought the bank had sold it, but they are stating they didn,t. So I want to find out who sold the house...Is there any where that would show who changed the title in the county records, but the state records still show no change..

The county is showing the house was sold but could not tell by who. The state of California Houseing only shows a deposit of $200.00 for the title change but it was never completed...the house was suposse to be in forecloser as of 3/8/2008 and sold a puplic action... Now no one knows who sold the house and the people that live in it will never own it.
So I need to find out if there is any other avenue to take to find out who sold it and for how much..

If the house was in foreclosure, then there is a chance that the lender would have sold the property. But even in that case, the lender would have asked you to sign the quitclaim deed and transfer the property to him. You will have to negotiate with the present owners of the property to know who sold it to them. You can also engage a title search company who may help you in finding as to who sold off the property.

it is really strange. property is still in your name as title change request is not completed. i think you have not signed any quit claim deed in the name of lender, thererfore they have notcompleted forclosure.

Hi richard,

You can contact the county recorder's office and check out who the present owner of the property is. This will help you know whether or not your wife sold off the property.
