I think the county or the state will charge recording fee. Will I have to pay property transfer tax?

Hi dollylee9,

The property is in Atlanta, Georgia. Do the county make any difference in terms of recording fee and property transfer tax?

Thanks.

Hi tigerfamous!

Welcome to forums!

In my opinion, you should contact the county recorder's office to know about the exact transfer fees. They will be able to help you in the best way.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

i have the same concern as tigers. Of course recording fee is the cost he should endure. The tax issue is too complicated even though he has not sold the house yet. I think he should not be taxed on the profit until he sold the house. Any other opinions?

Hi jk,

Any kind of the transfer of property will result into transfer taxes. As far as the capital gains tax is concerned, it will be charged once you sell off the property.

Thanks
