I was told that if i paid someone's property taxes for 3years-i can obtain the tax deed at the deed sale and i could have this place.I am not so sure about this. How the tax deed sale works?if deed would be actioned, how do i claim my interest in the property?do i have advantage because i hold 3tax certificates??how and when do i bid? when does the property get actioned for not paying property taxes??This takes place in Fort Lauderdale,FL....

Hi,

As far as I'm aware of, in a tax deed sale the property is given to the highest bidder. The sale is announced to the public and the bidding is open to all. No preference is given to you just because you have paid taxes for the property for 3 years. Generally, if the property taxes are delinquent for the past 1 year, the property can go into tax deed sale auction. But it depends on a particular situation when the property will be sold at the tax deed sale auction.

why in the world would you pay someone else's taxes for 3 years without assurance that what you were doing was beneficial for yourself? why did you wait until now to ask these questions? are you planning to go back to whoever told you this foolishness and fuss at that person?

is this a real dilemma or just another phantom question?
