the property I purchased was sold by the parents of the owner of the land because he had died on the property. I received a release of lien from the seller but never received a copy of the deed or a title.

David,

If you had an attorney, contact the attorney and request a copy of the deed and or the clear title. If you did not use an attorney, call the Title Company where you closed, give them the file number on your settlement statement and request it from them. If all else fails, call your loan officer and ask for assistance.

Hi davidloosemore!

Welcome to forums!

You can contact the county recorder's office and apply for a duplicate deed. You can even contact the seller and request him to provide you with the deed of the property.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
