transfer tax again?

i bought a property individually, later refinanced with someone as joint. now the other person is quit claiming back to me alone. i paid transfer tax first time, i never left title do i really need to pay again??

Welcome jcaulfield,

Once the title is transferred, you will be liable for paying the transfer taxes and deed recording fees. If you feel that you'll be unable to pay that, then you can ask the person transferring the property to pay it on your behalf.
