Go to your local title company and have them prepare and record the proper deed.

Hi Lida,

If the property is free and clear, then you can ask your husband to sign a warranty deed and add your name to the property deed. If there is a lien on the property, then he can use a quitclaim deed to transfer the property to you.

Thanks

The grantor has to execute a deed in their own name, plus the added person. If the property is mortgaged, the mortgagee or the company that holds the mortgage will want to ok the deal beforehand.
