How in tenn do i transfer deed when owner is deceased? house was left to us in the will. house is payed for. we are going to live there(actually already do), we did not want to open probate if we didn't need to. this is my wife's mother. thanks, waparman

Hi w_parman,

As your wife's mother has left a will, you will have to probate it. Once the probate is complete, the will needs to be recorded at the county recorder's office. Once this is done, the property would be transferred accordingly as mentioned in the will.
