how to stop cell phone spamming?

spamming is no longer restricted to mailboxes. what you get these days are messages on your phone even if you don't pay for themi. sn't there any way to stop cell phone spamming? looks like it's getting quite common these days. anyone has been in this trouble and taken any step?

I think you should block the number which is sending spamming sms.

I had recently been getting calls from some unrecognized number in Florida on my cell phone. They would never leave a message and the one time I did answer, all I heard was background noise for about 3 seconds, then hang-up. I looked online and found the company whose number it was (some magazine subscription company) and sent a complaint to the BBB. I also registered both home and cell phone #s on the do-not-call list, so HOPEFULLY those calls should stop. This was just recently though so I can't say for sure they've stopped for good, but I haven't gotten a call from that number in a couple of days vs. 2-3 calls daily.

Why don't you block the number? Are they harrassing you over the phone?
