I live in Houston, How do I put my wife on the deed to our home without adding her to the mortgage?
hi,

signing quit claim deed will add your wifes name on property deed with out adding her on mortgage. contact your attorney to sign a quit claim deed & record it in country records to make it validate.

thanks & regards.

If you have a mortgage on your property, you're not allowed to add people to Title, or remove anybody from Title. The mortgage note and Title need to agree with each other. Using a Quit Claim deed to add/remove anybody will impact the due-on-clause and the lender can call your note due and payable immediately.

Last answer was a bit off the mark. Real disservice to you. VERY common to have those on note and mortgage different. Most often one spouse is or judgments (e.g., a medical doctor) or one spouse has a low FICO and you don (LLPAs) for underwriting on note.

Welcome seeram,

If the property is free and clear, then you can use a warranty deed in order to add your wife and son to the property deed. If there is any kind of lien on that property, then you can use a quitclaim deed in order to add your wife and son to the property deed.
