Hello,
My boyfriend and I bought a home. The home was put in his name because they went with his credit. However, my money has paid the down payment and the monthly notes. He hasn't had a job in 7 months. I also have a general power of attorney over him. How can I get the deed in my name and assume the loan?

Welcome DUTCHESZ.

Your boyfriend can use a quitclaim deed to add you on the deed. And you can refinance the refinance the loan. So consult with your lender and find out whether he can approve you for refinancing the loan. By the way if your lender doesn’t allow you to refinance then you can shop for lender to refinance. You can even get better rates and terms.

Hope it helps. Let me know if you have any further queries.
