my ex has a quitclaim deed from me and now after 6 yrs. wants me to sign off on mortage so he can add his new wife to it. Our agreement had been that I would assume mortage and get house if something happened to him,is there a way to reverse this so I don't lose my rights as a benefactor to the house.

Hi,

As you say you divorced him, You paying off mortgage that does not related with heirship, If some thing happens with him you will not get any rights on that property. His current wife will get rights on his property. If you want to get rights on property add your name on property deed.

Thanks & Regards.

Hi Guest,

Have you signed a quit claim deed and transferred the property to your ex? If yes, then there is hardly anything that can be done. If you want to reverse the deed, you need to ask your husband to sign the quit claim deed and add your name to it again.
