dtay Guest 0.10 Dollars($)	Posted: Thu Sep 18, 2008 9:27 am    Post subject: quit claim deed help I quit claimed my property over to my ex but there was nothing written in the papers stating that he had to refinance after so many years. He has allowed the property to go into Bankruptcy. Is there anything I can do legally so that I can move on with my life and be able to purchase a house of my own. As i understand it, as long as he has not refinanced the house my name will remain on the mortgage. As your ex has filed a bankruptcy including the mortgage which has both your and your ex's name, it is surely going to affect your credit score. However, I would like to know what kind of bankruptcy has your ex filed – Chapter 7 or Chapter 13. This will help me to help you in a better way. Thanks… Jerry
