should we get a quit claim deed before paying off brothers m

Brother is selling his house to us. We will pay off his mortgage and so there will be no mortgage. Do we have him quit claim the property to us before paying off the mortgage.? Is that enough to get title after then paying off the mortgage?

Welcome to the forum.

You can do it together. When your brother quitclaims the property you can pay off the mortgage. As the property is mortgaged you should talk with the lender about this although it should not have much problem as you will be paying him off when your brother quitclaims to you.
