My son wants to "quit claim deed" his property to me and my question is :Would the quit claim allow me to obtain an equity loan on the house on my name ?

Hi Tropical,

Once the property is transferred to you through a quitclaim deed, you get the legal ownership of the property. You can then apply for a home equity loan on the property, given there is enough equity in the property and you meet the qualifying criteria for the loan.
