2 years after I added my brother to a deed (quit claim) and have been told by Title company that I do not have to pay any fees except service I have received letter from Florida Dept. Of Revenue conducting that I owed the documentary stamps, do I have to pay according to any law?

Hi akoush,

When you file a quitclaim deed, you are liable to pay for the documentary stamps. If you owe the fees for the documentary stamps, then you'll have to pay it. If you don't want to pay the stamp fees alone, then you can ask your brother to share the payments.

Thanks
