My exhusband quitclaimed the house to me as a part of our divorce. A year later he is being sued by some company for something. Can a lien be put on my house if he doesn't pay pay the lawsuit

Welcome sscott,

If the property is presently in your name, then your husband's creditors won't be able to place a lien on that property.

Hello sscott13,

The new owners title company will send the proceeds from the sale directly to the prior owners mortgage company. Any left over proceeds will come to you from the new owners title company.
