I have a Quit Claim Deed on a property. Recently I was served foreclosure papers. I know I should get a lawyer to look at them, but what can you tell me about my receiving these papers.

I guess you have a mortgage on the property and you have defaulted the mortgage payments. As a result of this, the lender has served you with foreclosure papers.

I did a Quit Claim on property, I no longer hold any interest on this property. By having this Quit Claim, can it release me from this foreclosure complaint? My name was on the mortgage so my name would be on the title. My name is not listed on the note nor did i sign any thing on the note.
Can anyone give me info on my type of situation.

Hi Guest,

Though you quitclaimed the property to another person but did that person refinance the mortgage in his/her name? If he/she had not refinanced the loan, then you are still liable for the mortgage payments. However, if the other person has refinanced it, then you won't be liable for anything.
