I was divored in January 2008, my exhusband quit claim deed our home to me. the morgage is in his name and the house never had my name on it. I was wondering If i can just tell him I don't want the house and walk away. Or do I need to sign a quit claim deed back over to him, to give him the house back?

Hello and welcome to the forum. If your name is on title, you'll need to do a quitclaim to remove it and give him complete ownership to the house. Other than that, sounds like you can walk away from it, barring any other requirements from your divorce decree, of course. Good luck.

Hi amylynntodd!

Welcome to Forums!

If your husband had once quitclaimed the property to you that means presently your name is on the property deed. In order to give him the property, you will have to quitclaim the property back to him.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
