what happens if you sign a quitclaim deed of a house to an exspouse? Are you still financially responsible?

Hi,

Welcome to mortgagefit, if you signed quit claim deed to ex-spouse then he will be resposible only as a home owner. But if your name is still on mortgage papers then you will not escape from financial resposibility, still you will be responsible for financial issues until you refinance mortgage to ex- spouse.

Thanks & regards,
