I have my property in a trust, I am the owner of the trust. I cannot get homeowner's insurance while the property is in a trust. I have to get the property out of the trust and into my name. I was told I need to do a reverse quit claim? Do you have any suggestions?

Hi,

If you had transferred the ownership of your property to a trust using a quit claim, then you have to do a reverse quit claim in order to get that back into your name.

Hello Joanne,

Yes, you have to do a reverse quit claim to get the property back to your name. The process is like, you as a trustee will do a reverse quit claim to you as an individual. If you have any co-trustee, you need to take his consent and signature.

It is very difficult to make a reverse quitclaim. If you have any co-trustee, then he also need to sign the quite claim, otherwise it would not be possible for you to do the reverse quitclaim.

As waht you have been told, you should do a reverse quit-claim deed for getting your property again.
