Before I filed for divorce my husband at the time signed a warranty deed to his mother. I was given possession of the home buy the court to fix it up to sell w/o interference from the mother in law. When i had a buyer she had to Quit Claim Deed me the home so, I could sign all the papers to sell it. Does this mean that she signed away all her interest including equity in the home when i was the one that invested all the money to make it bring enough to have equity?

Hi rollin!

Welcome to forums!

Once your mother-in-law signs the quitclaim deed, you will become the sole owner of the property. She won't have any claims on the property whatsoever. She won't be able to claim any equity in the property.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
