Are there any legal ramifications for filing mortgage interest paid in 2009 if I signed a QuitClaim deed in Dec. 2009? Also, I have proof that I paid all of the payments on the mortgage prior to signing the QuitClaim deed in Dec. 2009. In addition, I am no longer liable for the mortgage since my ex-boyfriend refinanced the loan in his name only. Does he have to agree to allow me to file this interest on my taxes?

the lender is going to issue a 1099 which will show a borrower social security number. if it's yours then there'll be no problem. if it's issued in your former boyfriend's name and social security number, however, you'll have difficulty.
