If I have a judgement against me, but not my property or my husband, can I have my name removed from the title and/or file a quit claim deed to be able to sell the property?

Hi mreyn,

The judgment is against you. There is no lien against your property due to the judgment, right? In that case, I believe you can quitclaim the property to your husband and remove your name from the title. Once your husband has a free and clear title to the property, he can sell it off.

hi, looked into that option, not available in Tx. It is a communit property state, so I was told by the title company that wouldn't work. So I'm still looking for an option!
