Do I have a right to a property that was purchased while we were legally separated but not yet divorced? The property was purchased in Kentucky and my spouse wants me to sign a quitclaim deed.

Welcome jlficke.

Did you have both your names on the title when the house was purchased? I think the spouse wants you to sign the quitclaim deed so that you relinquish your interest in property. In short, the spouse wants to own the entire property. But I think you should wait till the divorce is complete. This is because what the divorce decree states is indeed important.

Thanks.
