My mother passed away 3 yrs ago and left a will for me to have her home. She had been recieving medicaid asst. for several years.According to theeven though I ahd been living with my mother and had been taking care of her they can put a claim against the property, which they have done ,but waited untill after she was gone. They have not really pushed anything. My question is can I do a quit claim deed to another person. The house is in need of alot of repairs and this other person can get it done if it is in their name.
Thank You

You can quit claim the home to anyone you want - if the state has already put a claim against the property ths may make it a bit more difficult for you but without knowing the claim they are putting on the title I can't advise you if title would be willing to insure around it under the new vestee.

My next question is who is forcing you to quit claim a property into their name to do repairs... doesn't sound like a good idea.
