Our mom has changed her mind as to who she wants the proceeds from the sale of her home to go to. Can this document be modifed to remove names? My brohers took our mom to the attorney and the document was not written as she wanted. When my brothers was asked to leave the attorney's office so he could talk to our mom, they think mom answered questions she did not understand or hear correctly. Thus, the Quit Claim Deed does not read properly.

Can anything be done? Thank you.

Hi sandiechristensen,

If your mother has already signed a quitclaim deed and transferred the property to someone else, then it would be difficult for her to modify the deed. She will first have to ask the new owner of the property to quitclaim the property back to her and then she can modify it again.

Thanks
