Hi Mick,

Welcome to the forum.

I think you should notify the loss draft department for amount of loss that occurred in your property due to some natural disaster. The check is co-payable to the lender and the borrower. It will be sent to the lender for endorsement. Then you can request the lender to give you the check.

Best of luck,
Larry

Every mortgage company has there own Loss Draft procedure. Some are listed online. Others you will need to call and get the information. When calling, have your loan number handy.

Hi rae,

Have you submitted a claim to the loss draft dept.? I think you should contact them, make them aware of your situation and submit your claim for the loss.

are you still getting billed for your mortgage, emmett? have you called the insurance company or the lender? have you not received any correspondence to this effect?

honestly, it's awfully strange to see a question such as the one you asked. you ought to have received plentiful information about your claim.

I just wanted to say to GMakerley that I really hope that "community mentor" badge isn't real, because these are genuine concerns and you are answering them in a very short and rude manner. Mad

sorry you feel that way nicole...there was no disrespect intended, and i feel pretty certain that emmett daniels didn't take it that way either.

you must recognize that it's a pretty strange position to be in - to have a house burn, insurance paid and to still wonder if the underlying mortgage was paid off or not.

and, of course, the discourse you mentioned took place about 6 months ago. presumably, all the hurt and pain would have dissipated by now. i hope so.

if insurance company settles a claim for a house that burned down for payments of 1,000,000 and additional funds of 450,000 when house is built back per builder contract and these checks are sent to mortgage holder for disburment to the builder and then the insurance company settlles on hardscape and softscape for another 150,00 can the mortgage company just give that money back to the homeowner.
The loan remaing on the house by the owner is 700,00.

As far as I can understand, the mortgage company should return the excess amount to you.
