will be facing a divorce suit soon, I do not want it, my wife does. She is going to quit claim deed her interest in our property to her mother before she files for divorce. the intent of this action is to renig on a loan I obtained from my family member to payoff the mortgage and high interest rate, and to eliminate any asset that may be used for equitable distribution. the equitable distribution would be claimed to cover the personal loan and the financial stabilty I brought to the marriage. I have saved this property from foreclosure twice in a brief 1-1/2 years of marriage.

Welcome ob,

If your wife's name is on the property deed, then she can transfer her share of the property to anyone she wishes to. You cannot stop her from doing so. Nevertheless, you can always negotiate with her so that you may buy her out and she transfers the property to you.
